This made Me laugh.

Review

May 05, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

Sigh. What have I been doing? I went to a new music concert that one of my subs played in, which was lovely. I watched Caged Heat, the delightful women in prison sexploitation film that Lady Gaga’s Telephone video draws on, and spent too much time looking at light graffiti photos. They’re so cool! These are My favorites! Mistress Kit is going to do some with Me when I get some free time.

And I listened to a lot of BBC radio adaptations of Sherlock Holmes. I absolutely hate finishing series I love – to the point where I can go through most of a series in a month, then take another month to finish the last ten pages because I don’t want it to end. I finished the Holmes books a little while ago and didn’t want to let go, so moved onto the radio dramas, which I’m loving. All of this is going on in the background/as a way for Me to keep My sanity while I’m working on something I’m (hopefully) publishing, so it’s not all fun and games, but I’ll be less busy soon I hope and I think this thing I’m writing is going to be good.

Anyway, call Me or come have a session! Playing with people is really the best way for Me to stay happy when I’m busy, so come play!

Highbrow/lowbrow

Oh! I am so so tired! I worked an art gala tonight, and it’s always a very quick 6 hours! I love being in galleries, especially for galas. I wore a white floaty dress that I just made and felt like a fairy princess.

So, following the high culture, my coworkers and I went to slide happily into low culture and made our way over to the local bar, which I’d never actually been to before, despite (ok, maybe because of) it’s ridiculously popular status. It always makes Me laugh when dance floors at bars have a stripper pole. I would have danced on it, but it would have ruined my lovely long ballerina dress. Priorities. Another first, I played flip cup with all My coworkers. I’m still not one for dumb drinking games, but I’m happy in the knowledge that I’ve actually done it now. Seeing the gallery owner (My boss whenever I’m at the gallery) play with us made it completely worthwhile.

By far the best part of the night though was when I convinced one of My coworkers to try some BDSM with her fiancé. I told her about Holy Mountain, which is how the topic came up, and she was really interested. Her fiancé had seemed interested before, but she was too nervous to try anything. We spent all night talking and I’m going to show her a few technical tips next time we see each other. She was so excited, which was incredibly gratifying for Me! I love when I can help someone be more comfortable with their sexuality or their body. That was always make My day worthwhile. :)

Opera

April 29, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

I just got home (OK, I got home an hour ago) from the opera (Jason at the Chicago Opera Theater) with Mistress Kit. What a lovely evening! It had been too long since I’d been to the opera and too long since I seriously took a night out for myself. And the opera itself was worth seeing – funny, but ha! What a different ending from the real Jason myth! I was wondering how they were going to make that comedic! That’s all really – just a lovely night.

It doesn’t feel like a Monday

The video shoot for last weekend was rescheduled, so I don’t have photos from that, but I do have very belated valentines photos.

Here’s Me playing with the lovely Mistress Kit! (Remember, we still have discounts on double sessions together!)

Me scratching a heart into a sub’s back, then pouring a wax heart on him. Lucky sub.

I’m being a busy bee and reading right now, but I’ll be on Niteflirt all night tonight and the rest of the week, so call Me if you want to talk! On a note related to the reading – why, why oh why are there so many atrocious adaptations of Shakespeare? And I don’t even mean horrible modernisation (not that all the modernisation are bad – there are several that I actually love) – I mean dry, overwrought, horribly costumed by-the-book versions. I was looking for a good adaptation of The Tempest to no avail. Alas. Anyway, interrupt My reading and call Me!

Playing Doctor

April 21, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

Ok, I’ve actually had a really bad day. Among other things (I’m still unexplainably tired), I lost one of My favorite mittens (they’re lions and they made Me happy every time I look down at My hands) and now the matching lion mitten and I are heartbroken. They were a handmade birthday present so I can’t replace them and it’s put Me in a really pissy mood.

But, I’m trying to think about happy things, so: one of My best friends just gave Me this t-shirt a few days agoand it’s My new favorite. She said “It seemed more appropriate for you than for most people.” So true! Back when I was little, before I had any idea what “kinky” even was, I would plot humiliation scenes for cartoon characters that annoyed Me. I went to the doctor a lot, so most all of the humiliations I planned centered around that. I really hated Doug Funnie and I would plan out scenarios where he had to have a full intrusive medical exam on stage at a school assembly and he’d wind up peeing on himself and crying. Oh, the memories. So yes, when I play doctor, I play to win. I’ve worn it twice already this week. :P

Plus, I’m going to be on NiteFlirt every night this week and next week (though probably not this Saturday – I’m going to be dead from the video shoot), so call Me!

Party fun

April 18, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

I’ve yet to go to a Holy Mountain party where I don’t thoroughly enjoy Myself and I hope to keep it that way. Last night’s was, as always, stellar. We had like six new people! It was fantastic!

The start of the party was kind of funny though. I got their early, and the other Mistresses got there a bit late, so it was just Mistress Zaynab, her puppy, and I when the subs started arriving. The new subs arrived first, so it was new sub after new sub and just Z and I until all of the new subs were there before anyone else! I kept laughing each time the doorbell rang. Fortunately, HM is an unusual space, so I showed them around the playspace while we waited. I didn’t mind because it gave Me a chance to get to know them a bit.

It was definitely a good group though. Most of them were service oriented, so I got thoroughly massaged, which I sorely needed. With all the new people, We decided to break the ice by playing the Measuring Game! :P Nobody can be shy after that! Someone took a picture, and I can’t wait to see.

One of the new subs was brand new, and I did a sensory dep scene with him. Zaynab started it while I was in the moon room spanking someone, but I walked into the bedroom and started watching and She invited Me to take over. I love it when I leave someone shaking. It’s a palpable energy and I just feed off of it and it makes Me happy for the rest of the day.

Towards the end of the night, Mistress Kit and I took photos of each other. I wore the nightgown that Mistress Yani got Me for My birthday, so I needed some pictures in it.

Procrastinating

April 13, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

While I haven’t been procrastinating per se, I haven’t been blogging as much as I meant to. I intended to post about Easter and ritual, but that’s rather untimely now. Oh well. My boy was in town for the week and it was nice outside, so that happily pulled Me away from the computer.

Anyway, I went to a play party on Saturday, which was great, though it took Me over an hour to get there on the el. (I don’t actually mind long train rides, as I just read on them. The blue line is way too bumpy to read on though! Shit!) But it was worth the trip. I took My girl with Me and got to meet more people that I’d heard of but never seen in person. I meet a lot of subs, of course, but it’s nice to meet doms and switches too. I’m always happy to make new scene friends! One of them was doing some gorgeous ropework and tying everyone up. I volunteered to have My arms bound behind My back, which was interesting. (And funny because she’s a sub and the first two people she tied up were Dommes.) I just need to track down the woman who took pictures. I definitely want copies of those! Plus, there was epicly delicious brie and pear jelly, which is a surefire way to My heart. SO all in all, a very good night.

Speaking of parties, Our Spring Fling party at Holy Mountain is coming up this Saturday. Come play! I’ll be there and I want to meet more of you! All the standard party rules apply (they’re all listed in that link), but let Me emphasize, you have to RSVP to Mistress Zaynab by Friday (Mistress@MistressZaynab.com). No one is going to be let in at the door without an RSVP.

On the events note, I really want to go to Shibaricon and Lollapalooza! (Yes – Lolla’s not for a while, but I just saw the lineup and I want to see Lady Gaga, Metric, and Gogol Bordello.) Anyone want to be My date for either of those?

Findings

It always takes Me forever to actually upload the pictures off of My camera, so I’m only just posting these now. Here’s My feet after My day in the sand (I can’t believe they got that sandy through My tights!) and My Easter tights.

Also, – amusing links. I read a blog called Hersteria, which is “vintage marriage and sex-ed manuals” – i.e. awful, outdated, hilarious advice. She posts “hussies of the month” – vintage scandal! – and they make Me happy.

I’m impressed! Taking off victorian petticoats is difficult! Especially on a trapeze!

Long post is long

April 04, 2010  //  Posted by: Alice  //  Category: Uncategorized

These past few days I’ve kept meaning to post and kept being distracted by other things. Good things, mind you. I’ve been outside enjoying the weather and enjoying a play partner of mine who’s in town for the week and happily avoiding my computer.

Friday: Friday was so beautiful! I meant to take a nap or do some work between work at the gallery and an early afternoon meeting, but it was too gorgeous out. I called a friend and we ate lunch on the beach. I just had to be outside. It was My first sunburn of the year. I don’t like getting sunburned, but in this case I’m taking it as a sign that the sun is out and I’m outside showing skin that can be sunburned again, so, just this time, I’m happy about it. I don’t have the words to express how glorious the sand felt. I laid back in the sand in my dress and tights and just wiggled Myself into it. I love the way sand supports Me so much better than any other surface, conforming around My body, soft but firm. The top of the sand was hot and I buried My toes into it and scooped it up and let it run through My hands. Underneath the top layer the sand was cool, a little wet and clammy. When I finally got up to leave, I had sand in My hair and all over My feet – it got in through My tights and I walked around with it between My toes all day!

Saturday was International Pillow Fight Day! I love pillow fights. One of My friends that I went down with said “I haven’t been in a pillow fight in so long!” I said “Me too – I haven’t been in one since Valentine’s Day!” :P It was perfect weather for it – it had been raining earlier in the day, but it cleared up and the sun came out just in time for the fight. I broke My glasses though! Or rather, somebody’s pillow broke My glasses. I think they’re fixable, so no regrets as long as they are. I should have worn contacts, but I’m out of contacts right now. Anyway, I had a little couch pillow and like Me, it was small, but it packed a punch! I dressed up in My pillow fighting champion outfit – a purple tutu, a green tanktop that said Fairies Are Real, a purple puffy coat, and pigtails and laughed the whole time. It wasn’t quite as good as last year but it was more sustainable. Last year was more chaotic, so more fun for Me! There were more people and there were some broken pillows, so feathers were flying everywhere. But that involved a lot of cleanup and that got us in trouble with the city. Someone was actually arrested, which was absolutely ridiculous. No arrests this year, so ultimately a tamer pillow fight is probably a good thing. When the pillow fight was done, I headed home for the Easter Vigil.

If you celebrate, Happy Easter or Passover!
